How to Book Your Vacation

How to Book Your Charter

Determine how many will be making the trip. Take time to study the charts in “The Fleet” menu under the “Yachts” heading and make one or more choices about which to inquire. We can book ANY yacht available for charter, so if you don't see the one you are looking for in our listings, please ask. Use the “Advanced Search” link to search the database, allowing you to choose filters to narrow your results.

There are three basic categories of yachts: monohulls, multihulls and power or motor yachts:

Monohulls – the classic type of sailing vessel. May have more than one mast and sail and can vary in length from 39’ to well over 100’.  It will have a single hull with a keel (a boat's fixed underwater part used to prevent sideways drift and provide stability).

Multihills – these are the catamarans (two hulls) and trimarans (three hulls). The yachts will usually have one mast and mainsail, but can have many foresails. Some multihulls have no sails at all and are powered by two engines (and may also be found in the listings of power yachts and called power cats). These yachts are more stable in the water and better choices of yacht for those who are prone to motion sickness. Multihulls provide more interior space and flexibility of layout, and much more deck space. Multihulls can be found from 36’ to over 100’ in length and are great choices for larger groups or families.

Power/Motor Yachts – everyone’s idea of the classic luxury yacht, the sleek cruiser. There are many styles and designs of motor yacht and may run from 60’ to 360’ in length. Most will have 3 or more crew members, and provide the most luxurious accommodations and amenities on the water.

SUMMER/LOW SEASON RUNS FROM MAY 1-DECEMBER 14.

A PRIVATE crewed yacht, means just that... just you and your party and crew. A more casual and relaxed vacation than on a cruise ship. This is much more personalized and is an exceptional value. For your PRIVATE crewed yacht charter, all prices quoted are for an 8 day/7night charter, unless otherwise indicated. For most sailing yachts, this is an all-inclusive price, which may cost less than a week's stay in a luxury resort. All-inclusive means that all expenses are included (fuel, food/beverage, bar, water toys, and the services of the crew members, customarily a captain and a chef/mate) in the charter rate. Shorter and longer charters are available with charters of 8 or more days simply pro-rated. Shorter charters are usually priced using a formula that divides the 7 night rate by 6, then multiplying that nightly rate by the desired number of nights. Power yachts customarily have a base rate that includes the use of the yacht and crew but all running expenses are extra (fuel, food and beverage, bar, docking, communications, etc.) and billed to the charterer at the end of the trip.

Complete the Vacation Profiler form and send to our office and we will get back to you with available dates and answers to your questions. Once a specific yacht has been selected, a contract package will be sent to you for the chosen dates. A deposit of 50% of the total charter amount (25% if more than 6 months out) is required with the executed contract to secure the dates. SOME YACHTS NOW ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS for the deposit and balance.  Some yachts may accept credit cards, but will require the client to pay a "convenience fee" for this option. The balance will be due prior to the departure date (most yachts require 30-45 days prior) by check, credit card, cashier's check or wire transfer.

Yachts receive bookings on a continual basis. Your selected dates are confirmed only after the deposit is received by the clearinghouse/central agent. If your charter starts within 30 days of the booking date, the full charter amount must be received by credit card, cashier’s check or wire transfer. Please note: some yachts require full payment in advance.  Please inquire.

Cancellation Policy

If you have to cancel your charter prior to paying the final balance, the 50% deposit is non-refundable unless the yacht is rebooked for the same dates. If the yacht is able to rebook the dates, the deposit may be refunded less any applicable processing fee or cancellation penalty.  We will include in your confirmation/contract package information for an optional, yet HIGHLY RECOMMENDED travel insurance coverage that will protect your deposit if you have to cancel for illness, injury, or death of anyone in the charter group or of an immediate family member.
