The hilly landscape of this 48-mile-long island serves as the eastern wall between the Exumas Sound and the rolling Atlantic. The eastern shore of Cat Island is very steep. punctuated by high bluffs, while to the south are dangerous reefs extending out almost a mile in some places. But it’s the western shore that makes this island so memorable. Deserted beaches and excellent anchorages run the entire length of the island. Fishing around the islands is world class.
